Who Is Ronela Hajati? All You Need To Know About Albania’s 2022 Artist ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

It’s no Sekret that Albania are destined for greatness in Turin…

It has been a long road since Ronela Hajati first won the right to represent Albania back in December 2021, the new and reworked version of “Sekret” still has some of the iconic elements that fans came to love during Festivali i Kรซngรซs, but the added touches are sure to make this more accessible to viewers at home. Ronela will take flight, but how far up that scoreboard can she go? Before we find out that, let’s find out how she became one of Albania’s most loved stars.

Who Is Ronela Hajati?

Ronela was born on September 2nd 1989 in Tirana, soon realising that performing arts was a passion, she enjoyed playing the piano and attending ballet classes from a young age. Ronela first came to national prominence following her appearance on the Albanian festival circuit, with an appearance on “Top Fest” in 2009 and later again in 2012. Hajati has also featured on the iconic tv competition “Kenga Magjike” the show which has been won by a host of familiar Eurovision stars such as Jonida Maliqi, Anxhela Peristeri, Juliana Pasha and Eneda Tarifa, and most recently, FiK 60 runner-up Alban Ramosaj. Despite never winning the trophy Ronela remains well known for her appearances, her 2018 effort “Vuj” in particular remains much loved.

Ronela is often a fixture on Albanian charts, her 2019 single “MVP” topped the charts, with several others reaching the top 5. She is often seen as a positive figure in regard to body image and self-confidence generally.

How Will Sekret Do At Eurovision?

It’s fair to say that 2022 is potentially lacking in the uptempo female bop department and one that is laced in ethnic qualities. Albania is bringing something that they have never done before, mostly known for their big ballads delivered by strong and confident female performers, while the latter of that will remain true this year, Ronela will be hoping to transport viewers to the club rather than hitting them in the feels. Opening the semi-final and essentially opening Eurovision 2022 as a whole is perfect for this, they should easily qualify and overall I do believe that they will be rewarded for this. I do believe Albania could achieve their best result in a decade with this.
