At the Czech TV press conference this afternoon, the seven acts competing in ESCZ 2022 were revealed. Which of these artists will represent Czech Republic at Turin 2022? Do any of them have what it takes to lift the Eurovision trophy? The contest will take place online and will combine 50% jury votes with 25% Czech fan votes and 25% international votes, meaning all Eurovision fans can have a say. Let’s check out their songs and see who will be your pick!

Annabelle – Runnin’ Out of F* Time

Annabelle is a newcomer to ESCZ but her pop-punk infused entry, ‘Runnin’ Out of F* Time’, already seems to be proving a big hit with fans of the contest. Will it be enough to secure a victory?

The Valentines – Stay or Go

Although another newcomer to ESCZ, The Valentines are no strangers to a song contest, having won Radio Wave’s Starter song contest in 2019. Their indie-pop track ‘Stay or Go’ is sure to please listeners.

Elis Mraz – Imma Be

If you watched ESCZ 2020, you’re sure to recognise Elis Mraz. She collaborated with ฤŒis T on the song ‘Wanna Be Like’ but they came second to Benny Cristo. Could 2022 be Elis Mraz’s year?

Guidi – Jezinky

According to Guidi herself, “Jezinky are wild women from the Czech forests. They are mythical creatures seducing people to get lost with them in the woods.” We’re sure this Bjork/FKA Twigs-reminiscent track would seduce the ears of anyone who listens to it!

Jordan Haj & Emma Smetana – By Now

Husband and wife duo Jordan Haj & Emma Smetana have released many songs together, including ‘Lost and Found’ and ‘No Fire’. Their entry ‘By Now’ seems to be going down a treat with fans but will it be the winner?

Domi – Lights Off

Sometimes billed as We Are Domi, the band formed in the UK in 2018 but are from Czech Republic and Norway originally. What do you think of their dance-pop number, ‘Lights Off’?

Skywalker – Way Down

Post-hardcore four-piece Skywalker have been together for around ten years. According to Metal Noise, Skywalker had to “end their European tour prematurely due to no longer being able to enter Italy or Switzerland.” Could their single ‘Way Down’ be the start of something better?
