DMGP: Grand Final Preview ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (DMGP) returns once again in 2022 to select Denmark’s entrant for Eurovision this May in Turin.

Last year, Denmark placed 11th in the semi-final with โ€˜ร˜ve Os Pรฅ Hinandenโ€™, so will be looking to make the final this year.

Here are all the songs taking part on Saturday 5th March…

Patrick Dorgan ‘Vinden suser ind’

Patrick Dorgan is a soul/R&B singer. His song, ‘Vinden suser ind’ is one of the 5 songs in this year’s eight competition entries that is in Danish. Will Denmark be taking the opportunity to send another song in their native language this year, and will it be Patrick? We’ll find out on Saturday night.

CONF3SSIONS- ‘Hallelujah’

CONF3SSIONS are the current favourites to win DMGP this year and are one of the fan favourites heading into the show. ‘Hallelujah’ is a classic pop song, and could provide a good opportunity for Denmark to send an entry that resonates with viewers once again.

Der Var Engang – ‘En skรธnne dag’

Der Var Engang is made up of father-daughter duo Emma Pi and Rasmus. Emma won the junior version of the contest in 2014, and will be hoping to achieve the same result with ‘En skรธnne dag’.

Fuld Effekt – ‘Rave med de hรฅrde drenge’

‘Rave med de hรฅrde drenge’ by Fuld Effekt is another big favourite with fans. The band have said that they have plans to translate the song into English if it wins. It’s safe to say that this one will get the audience jumping if it goes to Turin.

Josie Elinor & Jack Warren – ‘Let Me Go’

‘Let Me Go’ will mark Josie Elinor and Jack Warren’s first live performance together, despite them frequently collaborating on other music. It’s a radio-friendly track that could be a dark horse – they’re currently 4th in the odds, so there’s potential that they may get the ticket to Italy.

Morten Fillipsen – ‘Happy Go Lucky’

Happy Go Lucky’ by Morten Fillipsen is also a radio-friendly track that’s perfect for the streaming era. Morten also took part in DMGP Junior, and 20 years later he’s back and trying his luck in the main contest.

Reddi – ‘The Show’

Reddi is made up of Ihan Haydar, Ida Bergkvist, Agnes Roslund and Siggy Savery. ‘The Show’ is currently second in the odds and with a good performance, it could be Denmarks Eurovision 2022 entry.

Juncker – ‘Kommet for at blive’

The final performance of the night comes from Juncker, with ‘Kommet for at blive’. He’s been on the music scene since 1995 as a member of the band Bloom. He now sets his sights on Eurovision 2022 as a soloist.

After the first round of voting, the top 3 will be announced. Then, Denmark will get the opportunity to vote for one of these three songs to represent them in Italy in May.
