Denmark will be looking to get back to the final of Eurovision 2022, after they failed to qualify last year with Fyr Og Flamme and their 80s inspired hit “Øve os på Hinanden”. So what do the Scandinavian nation have in store for us this year? We take a further look at the pop-rock quartet REDDI who are ready to take the stage in Turin with their entry “The Show”.
Who are REDDI?
The band is made up of two Danish members: Siggy (vocals, piano, guitar) and Ihan (drums), as well as two Swedish members: Agnes (guitar) and Ida (drums). This is actually the second time that drummer Ihan has taken to the Eurovision stage, as she participated in Eurovision 2012 for Denmark with Soluna Samay for the song “Should’ve Known Better”. The song finished 23rd in the final.
“The Show” is the band’s first single, and to tie into this, their first big venture was actually the Danish National Final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022, where the group won the right to represent Denmark at Eurovision 2022.
A overview of “The Show”
“The Show” starts slow and soft and really builds into a true pop-rock song. It starts with just Siggy’s voice and her piano and the rest of the band enter after the first chorus. The song itself has empowering lyrics about being unapologetically yourself, sticking two fingers up to the doubters and showing the world who you truly are.

How will REDDI do at ESC?
These girls are incredibly talented, bring a fantastic stage show and presence and are very hard working musicans, which has to be respected regardless. However, it’s really hard to see this song make it out of its semi-final. The song lacks punch and as mentioned, most of the instruments don’t come in until a good minute into the song which may turn some viewers off before they have even finished their full three minute stage show. Although, a big postive to take from that pop-rock sound is that it is very nostalgic for a lot of people and may resonate that way. This song wouldn’t be out of place in the iconic 2003 film “Freaky Friday”, from the sound to the lyrical themes. This is how they may pick up some votes, but we can’t see it being enough to make the Saturday night Final at this stage.
