Today, October 24th marks the last day of submissions for “C’est Vous Qui Décidez“, France’s national selection for Eurovision 2022.
After taking the silver medal in Rotterdam with Barbara Pravi’s “Voilà“ who could be next in line to represent the nation and bring them their first victory since 1977? These are 5 artists we would like to see get that exact opportunity.
Born in Martigues, Clara Luciani started her career at 18 years old when she joined the rock group “La Femme“. She had minor success but eventually decided that going solo was her best option. Her career really kicked off with the release of her debut album “Sainte-Victoire“ in 2018 that seen her nominated for France’s “Victoires de la musique“ for best new artist and for song of the year with “La Grenade“.
During the summer she released her second album “Coeur“ that includes several hits like “Le Reste“ or “Respire Encore“
Clara Luciani represents the present and the future of the French music industry with her modern twist on the traditional French sound that we all know and love. A Eurovision participation would solidify her career and introduce this new sound to a wider audience. Plus you may already have heard of her sister Ehla who participated in Destination Eurovision 2018 with her song “J’ai Cru“.

Lous & The Yakuza
Congolese-Belgian singer-songwriter and model Lous & The Yakuza rose to fame in 2017 with her hit single “Dilemme“ that went viral in several countries. She later got signed to Sony Music France and started working on her debut album with trap, pop and R&B influences. She also grabbed the attention of producer El Guincho (famous for Rosalía’s “Malamente“) and together they wrote her next two singles ahead of the release of her album “Gore“ in late 2020.
What makes her perfect for Eurovision? A unique sound that we usually don’t get to hear, a great stage presence and meaningful lyrics that tell the complicated story of her life.

26 year old Janie embodies the renaissance of the French chanson. She started her career in musicals and gradually made her way to The Voice France ahead of the release of her EP “Petite Blonde“ in 2020.
Her music style is an hommage to the 1960s-1970s chanson but with her own twist. “Petite Blonde“ represents this nostalgic-pop style but sang with the sweetness of her voice and the emotional lyrics that she manages to convey perfectly.
Janie went on to release her debut album “Toujours des Fleurs“ earlier this month earning positive reviews across the board. In addition, she’s also signed to Low Wood, the label that gave us Madame Monsieur and Bilal Hassani which could be a good sign.

French-Cameroonian rapper Di#se is one of the most exciting names on the French urban music scene right now. During his debut at just 17 years old in a music festival, many people were surprised by his maturity and his way with words. In an interview in 2019 he revealed that he’s extremely careful with his lyrics which is the most important part of his music.
This was confirmed in his 2019 album “Parfum“ which is an explosion of feelings where according to him every single word counts. What also makes him unique is the way he mixes the traditional rap sound with urban salsa or even pop. These aspects would make him stand out at Eurovision and would give France a breath of fresh air.
Recently Di#se participated in France Television’s newest competition “The Artist“ where he had a great run. It also is rumoured that we could see a few artists that participated in this competition try their luck at C’est Vous Qui Décidez 2022. Hopefully Di#se is one of them.
